Young Learners English — confidence first
Friendly, structured English assessment designed for children — celebrating progress and building the confidence that carries into every later exam.
Ask about young learnersHow YLE works
Young Learners English assessments are designed around how children actually learn: short, colourful, encouraging tasks across listening, speaking, reading and writing. Every child receives recognition of what they can do — there is no “fail”, only progress.
Why start early?
Children who experience friendly assessment early approach later exams — school tests, IGCSE, B2 certificates — without fear. YLE builds the habit of success and gives parents a clear, international picture of their child’s level.
Progression
YLE leads naturally into ESOL International A1 and A2, then onwards through the CEFR — one continuous path from first words to full mastery.
